Hello Everyone,
We have just installed a new script to manage the article directory. It is called Article Friendly and will make manageing our large database built up over the years much easier. There are plans to merge the old data into this site but no decision has been made on who would be best qualified to do that. We have upgraded servers also allowing for more growth.
The Free Article Depot has been around for years now and we plan on staying right here.
There are many new features with the new software and I will try to list some of them here.
Authors now have the ability to upload their photo, making their articles stand out.
Authors now have the ability to preview their article before submitting it.
Authors now have the ability to spell check their article before submission.
Article users now have the ability to search by author name, article title or text and resource box
SEF Urls. Important pages show as .html rather than dynamic urls (AF Pro Version which is what we have).
Remove non-contributing authors. Remove author accounts that never submit an articles with just one click of your mouse!

Delete author account with articles. No articles without author names when you delete an author account. Articles by the deleted author are automatically deleted also!
Auto Emails Authors. Auto Emails your authors when thier articles are approved or declined by you! Also gives admin an option to include more info in the email.
Ban Bad Authors instantly. Ban authors thru your admin area quickly and easily!
HTML Ready Articles. No need to have your visitors select/copy/paste articles they want in HTML ready format. Each article has the HTML ready article under the original, and all your visitors have to do is click a "copy" button and they've saved your site's article to thier computer's memory. Its that fast and easy!

Fast, Friendly front end. Authors can signup quickly and edit/delete their article, change their password or edit their author profile. This frees you for more important things!

Included Language Translation System! Offer more readers the opportunity to read your site's articles in thier language. Gets your pages indexed by the major search engines in not only english, but in German, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese and Japanese! Simply copy an include to where you want the flags and your done!
RSS Feeds for every individual category and subcategory! Instead of your users having only one rss feed, they can have multiple feeds in any category. This is really handy for niche sites that only want specific content.

Fast, dependable email confirmation system. New Authors must join, then click a confirmation link in your site's email before being allowed to post their articles!
Onboard Links Directory. Allows your users to post a link to their site and offers a recipical link to your site. Links can be approved, edited or deleted in your admin section.
Anti-email harvesting "Contact Us" Form. Stops those email harvesting bots dead in thier track and reduces spam from your site, and scripts trying to use your site to mass email thru your contact us form!
Login system to keep your admin files safe.
Approve All Articles By Keyword. You decide what keywords to approve article to which categories, then mass approve to your chosen categories!
Onboard Duplicate Content Finder. Search your database for dupe content for questionable articles that may have been "borrowed" or several top search engines all at once, and all from within your admin section.
Script auto emails you when a new author signs up! Keeps you informed of new signups and if the signup was a spammer or a legitimate author. Plus, it allows you to keep an additional record of your live authors!
Duplicate Article Deleter. Removes the dupes, but keeps the original. This will keep google from penalizing your site for dupe content.
SEO (Search Engine) Friendly URLs. Article titles, categories and author names are included in the page title and article titles and categories full names are in the url of each article! HTML ready articles on each article page are also excellent fodder for Search Engines.

We now have more feeds of manually checked articles direct to our database. We used to have one feed now we have three (3). These feeds keep The Free article depot full of fresh content for e-zine publishers and web site owners.
